What Plan G does not cover
Plan G does not cover the Part B deductible. You pay that out of pocket each year.
Plan G also does not include prescription drug coverage. You need a separate Part D plan.
It does not cover dental, vision, or hearing — those are bought separately.
Why people pick Plan G
- Predictable yearly cost: monthly premium + Part B deductible + drug plan
- Any Medicare-accepting provider nationwide
- No prior authorization
- Plan G benefits are standardized — every carrier offers the same coverage
Compare to Plan N (lower premium, small copays) and to Medicare Advantage (network-based, lower premium).
